In 1994, Rotecna became the first company to manufacture a hopper for fattening with plastic injection, the Grow Feeder Maxi. Since then, more than a million units of this hopper have been sold, reaching every corner of the world and giving Rotecna the basis for our recognition as a leading company in pig innovation.

The Grow Feeder Maxi is an “ad libitum” fattening hopper with a tilting mechanism and adjustable water flow. With front access, it offers the possibility of adding water to the feed, which increases the speed of intake and consumption. It has a regulation mechanism, with 13 positions, which allows dosing the drop of feed with greater precision in order to provide the precise ration to each animal without waste.

The feeder, with a 60-litre capacity, is made in one piece, and all its elements are integrated into it, without joints or edges, which allows for better cleaning. Due to its robustness, it is resistant to the blows of animals. In addition, the design of the feeder allows the installation of the water kit, both on the right and on the left, depending on the layout of the pen. Thanks to a design, the downspout for the water that incorporates the Grow Feeder Maxi is inserted and protected from the aggression of animals, and includes a system that prevents moisture condensation in the water line tube from falling into the hopper.

On the other hand, the stop version has a mechanism that allows to block the fall of feed with the hopper full, avoiding leaks regardless of the type of feed, which makes it easier to fast only those pens that are desired. The closure system is integrated into the hopper and is easily accessible and visible. With just one hand, the farmer can conveniently lock and unlock the mechanism.

The Grow Feeder Maxi also has a lid. The use of covers reduces the level of suspended particles and helps to preserve the health of the animals, and minimizes the health risks of contracting infectious diseases. In addition, it improves the preservation of the organoleptic characteristics of the food, and prevents food losses, preventing the access of insects, birds and rodents to the hopper.

For all of the above, the Grow Feeder Maxi allows a faster adaptation of weaned piglets in the fattening pens and allows excellent growth and feed conversion rates to be achieved.
