Description

The slurry acidification system enables the reduction of ammonia emissions from the slurry into the atmosphere when it is in the storage lagoons and also when it is being applied, with a 50% reduction in emissions.

The acidification system is used after a solid-liquid mechanical separation. During the process, an acid (98% sulfuric acid) is injected reducing the pH of the slurry below <6.5 pH. This reduction is controlled by two pH sensors, one at the system inlet and the other at the outlet.

It is a compact system that allows the pH of the slurry outlet to the lagoon to be constantly reduced and offers a resulting slurry with a higher agronomic value because it has a higher nitrogen content.
