Solutions for farrowing systems
The sows enter the farrowing pen a few days before delivery, and stay there until weaning of the piglets (usually between 21 and 28 days of age). The main challenges in this phase are to ensure the well-being of piglets and sows (properly disinfected on entry, sufficient space and the necessary equipment to create an environment suited to their different needs), to maximize feed and water consumption by sows (to maximize milk production and to ensure good growth of the piglets) and start the piglets on the consumption of feed and water to prepare them for the transition from milk to feed.
If these parameters are met, piglet mortality will be reduced and both sows and piglets will weigh more at weaning, with the benefits this brings in the following phases. Meanwhile, the sows will come out of farrowing in better physical condition, thus achieving higher fertility and prolificacy in the next delivery, with bigger piglets and better production rates during growth. Rotecna has a wide range of products that meet all of these requirements.
